The insulation prevents heat transfer, thus reducing the energy needed to raise temperatures. It protects neighboring materials from heat damage. With the dangers associated with the use of asbestos recognized, several alternatives for insulation in high temperature environments have been developed.



Exfoliated vermiculite is a light and versatile solution for private use. It is pressed into panels that can be cut with conventional carpentry tools and individually adapted to chimneys and stoves. It is processed with cement to fill gaps in chimneys or to plaster oven walls made of bricks from the outside. It can also be worked loosely into cavities in the masonry to improve fire protection and reduce heat loss. For the insulation of smoke outlets, we manufacture ingenious pipe jackets in the form of glass fiber fabric or mats that can be attached quickly and easily.

Alternatively, calcium silicate and ceramic fibers are used for high temperature insulation in industrial applications. Calcium silicate is a fiber-free material that is offered in the form of easy-to-use panels and is most often installed as background insulation. The ceramic fibers have high thermal shock resistance, low thermal conductivity and heat storage, and are therefore an excellent insulator.
