Costa Rica - Road trip off the beaten path

From the Pachira Lodge into the rainforest
Discover the rainforest, its rich flora and fauna, and the communities that live there. At Pachira Lodge in Tortuguero, take a boat trip through the winding canals of the rainforest and listen to the sounds of the jungle. On the way, an experienced naturalist will give you interesting information about the flora and fauna that you will see on your journey. Take a day trip through Tortuguero National Park - also known as the Little Amazon and just a five-minute drive from Pachira Lodge - to explore its amazing biodiversity. Go on a guided night hike and see different nocturnal species. Visit the local villages to learn about local culture and taste the delicious regional cuisine. There are also several outdoor experiences available for an additional charge. A tour to see nesting sea turtles is ideal, or an exciting zip line where you rush through the treetops on a so-called zip line. (Please use sunscreen, insect repellent, and comfortable clothing for these activities).
