What is luck and bad luck

Luck or bad luck?

Luck or bad luck?

A Chinese story tells of an old farmer who had an old horse to work in the fields. One day the horse fled into the mountains, and when all of the farmer's neighbors regretted his bad luck, the farmer replied, “Bad luck? Luck? Who knows?"

A week later the horse returned from the mountains with a herd of wild horses, and this time the neighbors congratulated the farmer on his luck. His answer was: “Luck? Bad luck? Who knows?"

When the farmer's son tried to tame one of the wild horses, he fell off the horse's back and broke his leg. Everyone thought it was bad luck. But not the farmer who only said: “Bad luck? Luck? Who knows?"

A few weeks later the army marched into the village and called in every fit young man they could find. When they saw the farmer's son with his broken leg, they left him behind. Was that luck now? Bad luck? Who knows?

What looks like something bad or disadvantageous on the surface can soon turn out to be something good. And anything that looks good on the surface can actually be something bad. We are wise when we let God decide what is happiness and what is unhappiness; when we thank him that all things flourish for the best for those who love him.

You decide if you are happy

We tell ourselves that life gets better when we're married, have a baby, and then have a second. Then we get frustrated because our children are not old enough and believe that will change as they get older. Then we get frustrated because they have become teenagers and want to negotiate anything with us. But we believe everything will be better when they are 10 years older. We tell ourselves that life will be better when we work with our partner, when we have a nicer car, when we go on vacation, when we retire.

The truth is, there is no better time to be happy than now.
If not now then when?
Your life is constantly changing. It is better to let yourself go and choose to be happy.

For a long time we thought that life would start soon. Real life.
We always thought that something else had to happen first during this time, to get something done, to finish a job, to wait a moment, to settle a bill. After that, the longed-for real life would begin. In the end I understood that the “soon” was already real life.
From this point of view, I understood that there is no way to be happy.
Happiness IS the way.

So enjoy the happiness.
Stop waiting for school to finish, go back to school, lose 5 pounds, put on weight, start working, be married, wait for a Friday night or Sunday morning, wait for a new car, get your mortgage paid have to die and be reborn for spring, summer, autumn or winter, for the end of the month, until your song is played on the radio ... before you decide to be happy.

Happiness is now and not a goal.

There is no better time to be happy than ... NOW!
Live and enjoy the moment.

Try to answer these questions:

  1. Name the 5 richest people in the world.
  2. Name the last 5 Miss Universe.
  3. Name the last 10 Nobel Prize recipients.
  4. Name the last 10 Oskar winners for best actor.

You can not do it? Pretty difficult, isn't it? Don't be sad, nobody can.
Applause goes by! Gathering cups of dust! Winners will soon be forgotten.

Now answer the following questions:

  1. Name 3 teachers from your training time.
  2. Name 3 friends who helped you in the hour of need.
  3. Name a few people who make you feel "special".
  4. Name 5 people you like to hang out with.

Easier to answer? That was easier, wasn't it?
The people who mean something to you are not "the best", have not the most money, have not won the biggest prize. It is the friends who take care of you, who take care of you, who stand by you, whatever happens. Think about it for a moment. Life is so short!
And you, what list are you on? You do not know?

Let me give you a tip.
You may not be among the most "respected" people in this world, but there are people who believe in you and trust you.

Some time ago, at a big athletics festival in Seattle, 9 athletes, all mentally and physically prepared, stood at the start line for the 100 m race. The shot was fired and the race began. Not everyone ran, but everyone wanted to be first and win. It was a hurdle race and a young athlete fell to the ground, injured himself slightly and began to cry because the race was over for him. The other 8 heard him cry. They slowed down and looked back. They stopped and came back ... All 8 athletes. Then all 9 athletes ran shoulder to shoulder to the finish line. The entire audience in the stadium stood up and applauded. And the applause didn't seem to want to end ...

People who have seen or even experienced this still talk about it today. How so?
Because deep down we all know that the most important thing in life is not to win for yourself. The most important thing in life is helping others to win. Even if this means slowing down and stopping your own race.

If you live like this, then maybe you will succeed in changing your heart, maybe someone else's heart ...
You decide what is important to you.

In old age one becomes wise

A 92-year-old man decided to go to a retirement home after the death of his wife. The apartment seemed too big for him and he wanted some company for his ... last days, because he was mentally still in good shape. In the home he had to wait a long time in the hall before a young man came to him and said that his room was now ready. He thanked him and smiled at his companion as he slowly walked beside him, leaning on his cane. Before they got into the elevator, the old man glanced into one of the rooms and said. "I like it very much." His young companion was surprised and said he hadn't seen his room yet. The old man replied carefully.
"You know, young man, whether I like the room or not, it doesn't depend on the location or the furnishings, but on my attitude, the way I want to see it. And I've made up my mind to be happy. I make this decision every morning when I wake up, because I can choose: I can stay in bed and grapple with the fact that my body is no longer able to do this and that so smoothly - or I can get up and be grateful for everything I have left Every day is a gift, and as long as I can open my eyes, I want to focus on the new day, and as long as I can open my mouth, I want to thank God for all the happy hours that I was able to experience and will still experience You are still young, but take the advice of an old man to heart. Deposit all happiness, joy, all beautiful experiences as memories in a special account so that you can have a treasure in old age that you can draw on , w whenever you need it. It is up to you how much the deposits are in the account. Let me tell you two more simple tricks you can use to grow your bank account quickly: Have only love in your heart and only joy in your mind. Knowing that you have such an account, the future loses its uncertainty and death its fear. "
The young man had listened in amazement and now thanked him with a bright glow in his eyes. He happily squeezed the old man's arm and said: "Thank you very much, I have just opened a reminder account at my bank, and this conversation is the first deposit." With these words he opened the door to show the new occupant his room. With a smile he said: "I like it very much."
